February 12, 2018

A Common Thread Theatre Company will be launching its first series of classes: Ballet and Tap 1&2. This series will be taught by Jill Mack.

Ballet & Tap 1: This series of classes will introduce younger children, generally ages 5-7, to basic ballet vocabulary and technique in a structured yet fun setting. Simple coordination, musicality, rhythm and concentration will be emphasized. Participants are encouraged to explore space and enjoy dancing. This series is suitable for beginners and will cover the fundamentals of classical ballet and tap technique. The importance of strength, flexibility, rhythm, musicality, and memorization will be stressed. Basics of performing will be introduced.
Ballet & Tap 2: In this series of classes, participants will gain a more complete understanding of ballet and tap technique. Emphasis will be placed on proper technique and alignment and increasing strength and flexibility. Participants are expected to have prior experience in ballet and tap and to be more self-disciplined. This series is generally suitable for ages 8 and up.
Classes will take place on Wednesday afternoons with one class starting at 5:15 and the next class starting at 6. Participation fee is $16 per class.
